Atwomo - Little Fried Snacks

Once you start eating them you can't stop.


250 g all purpose flour
tsp. salt
2 tbs. Sugar
tsp. Cayenne pepper
1 tbs finely cut ginger
100 g melted margarine
1 egg
1 cup of light milk or water

Pour half of the milk or water in a bowl; add the egg, melted margarine, ginger, cayenne pepper, sugar, salt and flour. Knead together (add some milk, if the mixture is too hard) to form a stiff dough. Knead dough for 8 to 10 minutes longer. Tear off a piece, (one handful) and roll it out with your hands on a lightly floured board into a long strip of about 1 cm thick and twist once or twice. Snip into 1 cm pieces with scissors. Warm the frying pan, without any fat and spread about a handful of the pieces on the frying pan. Stir it up once in a while, until it uniformly becomes golden brown on all sides. Continue until you finish frying all the pieces. Serve cold or warm.
